On 26 January 2020 I was birding in Lokbatan and surrounding areas close to Baku. Here, I observed a weird-looking but colourful bird, which reminded me on something like a redstart or a wheatear. At first glance, I had no idea about the species and immediately took several photos. I discussed the ID of the bird with some other birdwatchers and arrived at the preliminary conclusion that this is a Finsch’s Wheatear that took a bath in some chemicals or oil of a nearby old dump site.
