Start of BBBMC 2024

Although our start to the Besh Barmag Bird Migration Count was delayed this autumn, we’re thrilled to be back in action! The first day greeted us with cloudy skies and a bit of a chill, but the experience was no less rewarding. While passerine numbers were low, a juvenile Pallid Harrier and a flock of Grey Herons added excitement to the day. The southeast wind also helped bring several groups of ducks closer to shore, offering us great views of their migration. In the coming days, we’ll be joined by more international counters, and we have group visits from local communities lined up as well. Looking forward to some spectacular sightings ahead!
